Correct installation and alignment method for universal joints
Jan 08, 2019

The universal joints are installed in different locations during the application process. For example, for the front and rear drive models, the universal joints are installed at both ends of the drive shaft; in some cars, there will be a ball cage installed at both ends of the half shaft, and the ball cage also belongs to the universal joint; in addition, some steering mechanisms of the taxi have a universal joint, which is also in pairs.

The role of the universal joint is simple, in order to achieve equal ratio transmission at different angles. Taking the half shaft as an example, when the driver is turning, the position of the engine and the transmission are not moving, but the wheel is obviously deflected. In this case, the power needs to be transmitted to the wheels, and the universal joints are deflected in time and still provide power to the wheels.

In addition to correctly installing the universal joint, it is necessary to align it. Firstly, it is determined that the left and right, the upper and lower addition readings are basically the same, so as to ensure that the motor or the speed reducer is not skewed; Fix the reference end, adjust the left and right position of the reducer according to the left and right readings, and the left and right dimensions are within the allowable error range. After adjusting the left and right dimensions, and then based on the upper and lower readings, determine the adjustment pad to ensure the upper and lower error
