Forging flanges have outstanding corrosion resistance
Jan 18, 2019

With the continuous development of the economy, the actual demand for forging flanges in the industry is increasing, and its performance is very prominent, so it is very popular. The corrosion resistance of  forging flanges in various pipes is outstanding. Because it can passivate with the oxidant, a tough and dense chromium-rich oxide protective film Cr2O3 is formed on the surface, which effectively prevents the further oxidation reaction.

Forging flanges do not undergo uniform corrosion like carbon steel and do not require a protective coating when used. Forging flanged water pipes have no restrictions on the chemical composition of water because stainless steel is used in waters of various oxygen contents, temperatures, pH and hardness. It has good corrosion resistance; the stainless steel water pipe can withstand high flow rates, even if the flow rate is more than 40 m / s, it still maintains a very low corrosion rate, no more than 0.003 mm / year, especially suitable for high-rise water supply.

The coefficient of thermal expansion of the forged flange tube is similar to that of the copper tube, which is 1.5 times that of the ordinary steel tube. In contrast, the forged flange tube has the characteristics of slow expansion and contraction. Stainless steel generally does not undergo local corrosion. 304 stainless steel can withstand a chloride content of 200 ppm, and 316 stainless steel can withstand a chloride content of up to 1000
